In case you were wondering, the recent cold winds have chilled the water and shut down the nearshore fishing. The shore guys, kayak guys and even boaters have been pulling up goose eggs.
Another El Nino has reportedly started in south western part of the US and hopefully makes its way to us soon.
Please let us know when your luck improves!

I’ve been getting mixed luck on kastmasters recently. However, both spots have had quite a bit of bait along the shoreline. Hopefully the bite picks up soon, been seeing a lot of oama recently.

Matthew,
I like the way you make your own luck by consistently going out and searching for biting fish!

Been slow for us as well. One of my friends has been picking up the occasional rat, but it’s clear that winter has arrived. I got an off-Island trip planned in about a week, so hope to break the bolo streak then.
Where are you going Jason? The Bahamas?
Lol nah just Molokai. A friend is taking a few of us over for there weekend. Gonna be mostly chasing oio and whatever else we can sight fish. Hopefully the weather holds up.
Btw, I broke my bolo streak today- on Oahu 😉 glad I don’t have to fly to Molokai Thursday with the bolo streak hanging over my head
No pressure now! You can enjoy the beauty Molokai provides. Chee!
Certain spots will have Oama sizable to bite very soon, you know both spots.? I’ve also been hearing reports of Papio, but they are the size I’ve been catching too (10-12 inches), so no scrappers yet. Hope action picks up soon.
Thanks for the bait reports Matthew. Hopefully your sardine spots hold halalu soon!
