The Holoholo writers provided this composite fishing report of the last 2 months. Mahalo guys!
Boat

Ahi came in early this summer. Aku, ahi and marlin still coming up on West and North sides.
Nearshore white papio / ulua beginning to stage.
Kayak
Opelu still spawning and hard to catch. Pelagics and bottom fish slow but if you do have akule or opelu there’s a good chance it will get hit since there’s so little bait around. South and East Oahu doing better than North and West Oahu.
Shoreline
The plugging and shore jigging have been very slow. The baitfish are in so hopefully the ulua will follow. South east slidebait spots have been very slow this year too, so far.
Halalu and oama have been biting well. Oio still consistent.
Fly Fish Oio
The fly guys have been getting at least one oio each outing with multiples lost.
Dive

Uku are back, reef fish are around but water has been dirty most of the time. Too warm for tako lately.
Summary
While the bluewater boat action has been great, the nearshore waters seem to be transitioning to warmer water and improved fishing in the Fall. During the last El Ninos, the fishing was really good in between the passing of tropical storms. Tight lines and be safe!
